Can Pregnant Women have eyelash extensions?
  • Eyelash extensions are a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that can be worn during pregnancy without any risk of injury or discomfort.
Can I book an appointment when I am pregnant?
  • Yes. Our rooms are well-ventilated, and we use electric recliner chairs (no massage tables) so we can adjust the level of recline to suit your stage of pregnancy.
Level Of Recline
  • Women in their second trimester should avoid lying flat on their backs after 20 weeks, so please let us know if you are halfway through your second trimester so we can adjust the recline accordingly. We recommend that you bring a pillow to put under your legs if you think you might need one.
Breaks
  • Eyelash Extension appointments average between 1-1.5 hours (depending on the set). If you would like to take a short 2-minute break during your eyelash extension appointment (e.g, get up and walk around the room), please let our technician know at the beginning of your appointment.
  • Glue
  • Our eyelash extension glue is high-quality and safe to use on eyes and will not directly harm your baby, but if you are sensitive to fumes (or have become sensitive to smell during your pregnancy) please take your own precautions when deciding whether or not eyelash lash extensions are right for you.

If you are pregnant and wish to book a lash appointment, please book with our Master Lash Artist as this will ensure that you get our most experienced lash technician who can cater to your special requirements.
Risks Associated with Pregnancy
  • Lash extensions will not cause direct harm during pregnancy, however there are still risks that all clients (even if not pregnant) should be aware of;
  • ◉ Allergic Reactions
  • It is rare to experience an allergic reaction, but it should still be considered a risk by every client.
  • An allergic reaction can happen to anyone at any time - even clients who have had eyelash extensions before. Pregnancy increases the risk of an allergic reaction since the body undergoes a lot of physiological changes, making it difficult to predict how it will react. Due to the fact that most medical treatments cannot be used while pregnant, treating allergies can be difficult.

  • If you have concerns about a possible allergic reaction, please seek advice from a trained medical professional.

Pregnancy & Eyelash Extensions - Other things to be aware of
  • ◉ Hormone Changes
  • As noted above, your body undergoes a lot of physiological changes when you are pregnant which can affect lash growth and the oils that your body produces. A change in hormones can affect your lash growth cycle (making your lashes grow extra fast), which may cause your lash extensions to shed prematurely. Excess skin oils, sweating, and crying will also affect the retention of your lash extensions as sweat and (especially) oils will affect the adhesive by weakening the bond of the glue. Crying and rubbing your eyes can also weaken or put pressure on your lash extensions, and could cause them to break or shed prematurely
